Ryan’s journey with Pride Bands Alliance first began in October 2011, when shortly after moving to Atlanta, he saw it. A. Queer. Marching. Band. Right there in the middle of Peachtree! He immediately turned to his husband and declared “when I finally find time, I’m joining that band!”

Every year, he would say the same thing. Finally at the 2022 Atlanta Pride parade, everything changed. Not known for being subtle or quiet, someone from Atlanta Freedom Band overheard him lamenting about not having time, and told him “it’s not that serious. It’s only like once a week”. And from that point on, nothing has been the same.

After two seasons with AFB, Ryan and his husband relocated to Philadelphia for work. Ryan has been active with Philadelphia Freedom Band since the day he arrived in Philly, and has never looked back. He and his husband, James, live in the suburbs with their dogs, cat, and horde of LEGO. Ryan is so excited to welcome the Pride Bands Alliance to his newly-adopted city and to show everyone what this jawn has to offer!!
